CALLING ALL NORTH STATE THEATER FANS!

Rebekah Pearson has taken the first step in making her dream of the Shasta Theater Alliance a reality.  The purpose of the organization is to support ALL theatrical endeavors here in the North State and offer services – such as a Newsletter, membership support, and a Tony-style awards event.  Rebekah is just in the fledgling stages of gathering together advisers, board of directors, and forming the  specifics of the organization.  She has created a fun and interesting online survey/questionnaire for the purpose of gathering input from as many individuals as possible to ensure that the Shasta Theater Alliance offers its members what they want the most.  To take the survey go to: http://shastatheatrealliancesurvey.questionpro.com/ Brava to Rebekah and those that are helping form this exciting new concept!  Personally, I would love to have a central organization that could keep track of all the upcoming audition and show dates for us!

Reviews – What’s Your View?

We occasionally get into discussions with our actor friends about local reviews, or lack there-of.  More often than not,  if there is a review at all, it is more a brief synopsis of the production, lists the major players, and may venture so far as to say one or two things that they liked.  Some feel that a proper review should be a deeper analysis, critique and perhaps even evaluation of the performance.

So the question is – what is your idea of the ideal review for a performance in our North State?  Should it be a different set of criteria for amateur vs. professional?  Who should be doing the reviewing?  Should they always be positive, or do you want some candid criticism as well?

Actors, Writers, Directors, Producers, Singers, Dancers, Fans – CURTAIN’S UP!

Now that Lisa has discovered how to build a blog site, she’s going crazy!  We always wanted to have an interactive site that our thespian friends could come to share information, write reviews, offer support, brainstorm, play games, or anything else we theater-types might want to do online (as long as it’s PG-13 of course!)
